I’ve always had a passion for capturing beautiful scenes and turning them into something tangible. Motivated by everyday beauty, I find it incredibly difficult to resist pulling out my camera when something strikes me.
I grew up on a small dairy farm near Kingston, Ontario. My childhood was spent roaming fields and forests, which lead to nature playing a huge role in my creative vision. Pastoral themes lie in a number of my photographs, encapsulating the typical small-town scenes, while simultaneously reflecting how seemingly simplistic creatures or objects can be much more complex than expected.
In September of 2013, I moved to Toronto for graduate school. This was my first experience living in a big city and it had a huge impact on the way I photographed. The vibrant city life gave me a broader perspective on the role of a photographer in society; how to document the ebb and flow of daily life while interacting with it at the same time.
I currently reside in Vancouver, and feel at home in the mountains. I hike frequently, and always have my camera with me when I do! Many of my recent photos are of mountainous landscapes, as I find immense inspiration nestled in the forests and rocks that lie thousands of feet from sea level.
Over the years, I’ve managed to compile a decent sized portfolio of landscapes, macro images, and portraits. Follow my personal and professional adventures here!
